She is the principal of Newton Smith Group, and previously served as a Senior Vice President at Gorman Health Group and Chief Consulting Officer at Healthmine after having led enterprise Star Ratings operations at Cigna-HealthSpring, providing leadership on quality strategy and performance improvement initiatives across multiple markets in an array of roles.
Melissa has advised health plans, providers, vendors, and investors on strategy, regulatory navigation, performance improvement, and organizational transformation. She is a frequent industry speaker and an inaugural RISE Fellow, educating healthcare leaders on emerging Medicare Advantage trends, implications and strategies for success.

She is the principal of CAT5 Strategies and founder of TRACSCOUT, a SaaS platform supporting managed care operational processes.
Ana previously held senior leadership roles including Chief Strategy Officer at Nations Benefits, Chief Product Officer at Porter, and COO/Vice President of Managed Care Services at Central Florida Inpatient Medicine. Earlier she served as Director of Corporate Program Development at Physicians United Plan, where she led quality initiatives and helped design integrated technology programs supporting Star Ratings performance.
Her advisory work spans regulatory compliance, Star Ratings, care management, benefit design, accreditation preparation, and CMS audit readiness.
